Do I need to have a Dropbox account to setup a CSI Cloud account?
- Currently a Dropbox account is required as it is used to securely store your model data. It is free to setup. To setup a Dropbox account, please visit Dropbox. During the CSI Cloud account setup process, you will be prompted to link your Dropbox account. In the future we look forward to integrating other cloud services.
Can we have multiple CSI Cloud accounts linked to the same Dropbox account?
- Yes, users have the option to setup multiple CSI Cloud accounts linked to the same Dropbox account.
How can I change the Dropbox account associated with my CSI Cloud account?
- You can disconnect your current Dropbox account from your CSI Cloud account by logging in and clicking on the 'Disconnect Dropbox Account' link at the bottom of this page. Please ensure you have logged out of your Dropbox account on your current browser, even if your Dropbox login page is no longer open, before trying to link a new Dropbox account.
What is CSI Cloud Explorer?
- CSI Cloud Explorer is a utility that allows the user to upload ETABS and SAP2000 models to their Dropbox account folder via CSI Cloud.
How do I install the CSI Cloud Explorer utility for ETABS and SAP2000?
- Download and install the CSI Cloud Explorer utility from within the supported CSI product, by selecting menu option File > Upload to CSI Cloud. Once installed, select the Upload to CSI Cloud option again to log into your CSI Cloud account and upload your model.
What are the requirements to install the CSI Cloud Explorer?
- In order to install the CSI Cloud Explorer, you will require the following:

Where are my ETABS or SAP2000 uploaded model files stored?
- All of your models are stored in your Dropbox account folder. All CSI Cloud model data will be written to your Dropbox under: Dropbox > Apps > CSI_CLOUD_WORKSPACE

- No, the analysis is run on the desktop versions of ETABS and SAP2000 and results can be uploaded via the File> Upload to CSI Cloud option.
What model components are visible in the CSI Cloud Viewer apps? Can I edit my models in the CSI Cloud Viewer apps?
- Users can access geometry and some analysis results of ETABS and SAP2000 models including deformed shape animations and frame force diagrams. Models may be viewed in plan, elevation, or extruded views. Models may not be edited in the ETABS or SAP20000 Cloud Viewer.
What are the ETABS or SAP2000 Cloud Viewer analysis result limitations?

- Results: Only deformed shape, animations and frame force diagrams are available. The ETABS and SAP2000 Cloud Viewer do not handle the following:
- Link force diagram
- Pier and Spandrel force diagrams
- Shell diagrams and contours
- NL Links: The Cloud Viewer does not handle display of link members.
- Time History Animations: The Cloud Viewer does not handle animation of time history cases.
- Transparency: All member displays are opaque without any transparency.
- Units: Display output is being shown only in default database units.
What CSI products and versions are supported for CSI Cloud Explorer?
- We currently support ETABS 2016, starting from version v16.1.0 and SAP2000 v19, starting from version v19.1.1. You can update to the latest version of ETABS 2016 or SAP2000 v19 by running the CSI Installation Wizard. To purchase or upgrade to ETABS 2016 or SAP2000 19, please contact our sales team here.
What operating systems are supported for the CSI Cloud Viewer apps?
- Only iOS and Android are supported. We don’t support Windows Phone and tablets.
Can I open/view my uploaded Dropbox models?
- Uploaded models to Dropbox may only be viewed using the iOS and Android apps. Thumbnails of the uploaded models are visible in the CSI Cloud Explorer. These model files are saved in a manner in which they may not be opened in desktop versions of CSI software.
Is there a fee associated with CSI Cloud, or any of the iOS or Android apps?
- At this time, CSI Cloud, and iOS and Android apps are free, however this could change in the future.
